So you think, we named this guitar after The Who's rock opera? Or because we blindly admire Aussie guitar genius Tommy Emanuel? Wrong: Tommy is the title of one the greatest guitar tearjerkers ever, recorded by the only supergroup Holland ever had, Focus. In contrary to popular belief the song was not composed by one of the members of Focus but by symphonic rockgroup Solution - with Tom(my) Barlage on saxophone - that named it Divergence. After immense success in the States and the UK the two main ego's of Focus, Jan Akkerman and Thijs van Leer, couldn't bear the sight of each other anymore - wasn't there some small, insignificant band from Liverpool with the same kind of problem? - and the band split up. They reunited once in 1990 for a televison broadcast and again: Tommy gave us the shivers...
